07/31/11 UNITY OR DIVISION

Psalm 133:1 says, "Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!"

Though this is the plan of God for all men and all relationships, few have ever experienced or seen it. Those who have, thought they were dreaming.

There is no unity where there is pride in self or disdain for God and His people. Where there is pride in self, there is hatred for others. (see comments).

MARRIEDS; Adam & Eve/God...

EXTENDED FAMILY; Sarah/Hagar... Ishmael/Isaac... Jacob/Laban... Sarah's Son's/Keturah's Sons...

EARLY CHURCH; The Twelve... Paul/Mark... Paul/Peter... Euodias/Syntyche... Phygelus&Hermogenes/Paul... Hymenaeus&Alexander/Paul... Demas/Paul

UNITY ESSENTIAL TO SUCCESS.
Demonstrated in various sports;

Tug of War,

Rowing,

Relay Racing.

Also Demonstrated in Music, through Harmony/Discord.

Groups have leaders and must follow their leaders.

Tug of War has Anchorman....,

Rowing has Coxswain,

Relay's have Anchors,

Music has Conductor,

Marriages have Husbands,

Families have Parents,

Churches have Pastors.

When individuals refuse authority there will be disaster. Resistance, rejection of authority is due to PRIDE and DISDAIN for the person in authority.

How good and pleasant when marrieds, families, churches dwell together in unity.
