01/01/11 A PEEK INTO MY STREET OUTREACH
I took my Happy New Year tracts (Aiming For Heaven in 2011) to the Boulevard this morning.

As I hand out tracts I greet folks, converse, witness and pray when I can.
I distributed 20 tracts to 30 different people (including spouses).
They were vacationers, resort workers, street folks.
I had about a dozen refusals.
My goal is not focused on great numbers as good contacts.
A good kickoff for the year, which should lead to follow up opportunities.
It is not unusual to meet folks who live in the area or work in the industry and then see them on a regular basis.
(2:7 miles in about 90 min).
Pray the Lord of the Harvest...
I pray as I write my tracts, print my tracts, prepare to distribute my tracts, distribute my tracts and then I pray after I distribute my tracts. Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.
As I go, I ask God to give me the right attitude, lead me to the right people and say the right things (to those who receive and those who refuse). I know there are needy people all around me and God knows who they are; and He can bring them to me if I go to them. I realize that it is God Who gives the increase.
There is almost 4.5 miles of Boulevard filled with motels and other resort businesses, (9 miles when you walk both sides of the street). This means that I take it a little bit at a time. I would really like to have a team work the streets with me, so, Pray that the Lord of the Harvest will send forth laborers into the fields.
Matthew 9:37-38
(37) Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few;
(38) Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.
Psalms 127:1
(1) A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house, they labor in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
Isaiah 6:8
(8) Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
Romans 10:13-15
(13) For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
(14) How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
(15) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

(11) So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
(12) For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
