I grew up as an only child, so I have no memories of sibling love. If you have a brother or sister but you have grown apart, why don't you try to remember your close times and move away from the estranged times? Even if you have to say you are sorry.
To a friend... It is not always easy to face our disappointments. I am glad for the good things that have happened in your relationships over recent years, but as you point out, time and distance makes it even more difficult.
I am reminded that the Scripture tells us to live at peace with others, as much as we can make it possible, indicating that it is not always possible. Still, we must be faithful to the Word of God and hope that others will understand our overtures.
