12/13/11 THE DEADLY RIVER BED

12/13/11 THE DEADLY RIVER BED

The fellow decided he wanted to live in the dry river bed because the ground was flat and the surrounding trees and beaches were beautiful; plus he had heard there was good fishing occasionally.

He was warned that the rainy season would destroy him and his house, but he insisted on staying. The more he was warned, the angrier he became, violently attacking his would be rescuers.

One day, while cursing those who were trying to save him, a torrential rain sent a sudden flood, ending his life of self assertion and defiance.

PASSAGES...

(15) Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.
(16) These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
(17) A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
(18) An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
(19) A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
(20) My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Proverbs 29:1
(1) He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3
(2) For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
(3) For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
