Famous lost words of godless Roman Emperor, atheistic Soviet leaders and anti-Bible, anti-Christian American politicians and religious leaders: "Here is the deal, the State will let you worship freely, if you register your church with us."
I saw an article by International Christian Concern, reporting that Algeria is possibly going to give approval to specific, illegal house churches, if they register with the State. Some people see this as a positive step toward freedom of worship.
Two problems...
1- The State (especially a Muslim controlled State) is not going to be the friend of a Bible following Church.
2- Bible believers should never seek the approval of the State, since it is already under Divine mandate. To seek, want, rely on the approval of the State is to deny the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Also consider, whenever a group of churches in a region comes under State authority, they make it more difficult for churches that only recognize Christ as the head of the Church. Not only are unregistered churches considered illegal by the State, they become despised by the State approved churches and suspect to uninformed people everywhere.
