08/22/11 SHOWDOWN IN MIDDLE EAST

08/22/11 SHOWDOWN IN MIDDLE EAST

The big shakeup in the Mideast is designed to align things for the final showdown. It is part of a plan (actually two plans).

1. Satan wants to destroy Israel by using his most powerful juggernaut yet (Islam, along with world powers, Russia, China, EU and US).

2. God is fulfilling His word, vindicating Himself and defeating His enemy. This is an awesome time to be alive, if you are saved.

The qualifier is IF YOU ARE SAVED; because the future is dark and destructive for those who are rejecting Christ. COME ON, if God was accurate in foretelling the resurgence of Israel, the rally of the Muslim world with Russia; the revival of the Roman Empire and the rise of China, don't you know He has correctly foretold the dangers awaiting those who reject His authority and grace? As the man cried out, when he realized his life was hanging in the balance, "What must I do to be saved?" (Ac. 16:30)

The Bible tells us that certain events will happen in the future, such as Israeli conflict with near neighbor enemies (Syria, Lebanon, Egypt) and conflict with more distant enemies (Iran, Turkey and maybe Russia).

Some of these prophesied events could take place before the Rapture. However, nothing has to happen before the Rapture (first phase of the Second Coming). Obviously some prophesied events will take place during the Tribulation, before the Return (second phase of the Second Coming). Some events may actually begin before the Rapture and be finished during the Tribulation. As with Paul, I know that certain events will happen, but I am not looking for events, I am looking for Jesus.

It is possible that the present upheaval in the Mideast and North Africa is a prelude to the events of Psalm 83, when the near neighbors will attack Israel and be defeated. Possibly before the Rapture. The near neighbors may be defeated to such an extent that Israel will feel secure in her borders and therefore remove her walls and fences, thus leading to the circumstances we find in Ezekiel 38, when the distant enemies attack Israel (probably during the Tribulation).

Of course, other circumstances may cause such a breakdown in security. Maybe Israel will be lured into trusting her “friends” or Israel will be maneuvered into removing her walls by her “friends.” The events of Ezekiel 38 seem to involve a limited number of her enemies, but the final great battle (or campaign) will be the entire world coming against Israel.

I am not sure about the “Putin” thing. I actually do not pay much attention to personalities, since they are expendable and can be misleading or they can be decoys that misdirect our attention. The events are made more clear in the Scriptures, whereas the identification of the personalities is not the focal point of the prophecies.

So, maybe near neighbor problems in the immediate future, distant enemies during the Tribulation and finally the whole world against Israel, just before Jesus returns.

This is the way I understand it at the present time.
